Hello Everyone,
Well finally a new post for everyone and it is not an Artists That Inspire post but a Great Design post! I can write Great Design posts a lot quicker as they are more image based posts, but I believe they are just as interesting as the Artists That Inspire posts. So for this Great Design post I want to highlight the wonderful design of the Two Crown King EP.
The cover artwork was created by Jacqui Oakley and is absolutely stunning. The intensity and wide range of color present in the image is striking and beautiful. The mane flowing around the concentration and stoic beauty of the lion is impressive.
The entire design of the EP centers around the work by Jacqui Oakley, but the entire EP design couldn’t be complete without the bold design work by the Canada based Design firm Polystudio.
A stunning cover image is extremely important for an early EP by a band, it sets forward an identity for the band, and a specific image that fans can recognize and rally behind. Covers images are also just incredibly important as a whole as well. Coldplay’s Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends contains a cover that is very prominent in everyone’s mind. Combining Delacroix’s “Liberty Leading the People,” with a painted “Viva La Vida” placed over it. That image was simple yet effective, just as much this Two Crown King Album art work is, and it works both as an album cover as well as an art piece.
The Two Crown King album cover art is absolutely wonderful, and the stunning design that is paired with that creates incredible work for this EP. Centering around the impressive lion created by Jacqui Oakley, Polystudio did a wonderful job at creating a unique and great design.
